About me

Hi, I’m Lou.

For many years I worked in the insurance sector, supporting people during some of the most stressful and uncertain moments of their lives. It was a role that required empathy, calm thinking, and the ability to help people navigate difficult situations.

Over time, I realised that what I was most drawn to was the human side of those conversations understanding how people were feeling and helping them find a way forward when things felt overwhelming.

That realisation led me to begin a deeper journey of personal and professional development, exploring coaching and therapeutic approaches that support emotional wellbeing and meaningful change.

My work is also shaped by my own experience. Earlier in my life I struggled with anxiety, which at times left me feeling disconnected from myself and unsure of my own strength. Through the right support and a shift in perspective, I was able to rediscover a sense of confidence and inner resilience that I hadn’t realised was there.

That experience gave me a deep understanding of how powerful the right support can be and it’s something I now feel privileged to offer others.

Today, through You’re Unique (Coaching & Therapies) Ltd, I support people who may be experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, confidence challenges, or the impact of ongoing stress or pain.

My aim is simple: to create a calm, supportive space where you can explore what’s going on and begin moving toward a place of greater ease, clarity, and confidence.

How I work

No two sessions are ever the same.

Every person arrives with their own experiences, challenges, and goals, so I draw on a range of coaching and therapeutic approaches to support you in the way that works best for you.

Depending on what you need, sessions may incorporate techniques such as hypnosis/guided imagery, NLP, EFT, bilateral stimulation, and other mind–body approaches that support emotional wellbeing and nervous system regulation.

Rather than following a rigid formula, I work collaboratively with you, choosing the approach that feels most helpful in the moment.

Because you’re unique, the support you receive will be too.

A little more on the techniques I use

I draw on a range of coaching and therapeutic approaches depending on what will be most helpful for you in the moment. Here is a brief overview of some of the techniques that may be used within sessions.

Transformational Coaching

A supportive and forward-focused conversation that helps you gain clarity, challenge limiting beliefs, and create meaningful change in your life.

Hypnosis / Guided Imagery

A deeply relaxing process that helps calm the mind and body while allowing helpful suggestions and insights to reach the subconscious.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

A practical approach that explores how thoughts, language, and patterns of behaviour influence how we experience the world. NLP techniques can help shift unhelpful patterns and create more supportive ways of thinking and responding.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

Often referred to as “tapping”, EFT combines gentle tapping on specific points of the body with focused thoughts to help reduce emotional intensity and release stress or anxiety.

Bi-lateral Stimulation

A technique that gently engages both sides of the brain, helping the nervous system process emotions, memories, and experiences in a calmer way.

Simple yet powerful techniques that help regulate the nervous system, reduce stress responses, and support the body’s natural ability to settle and rebalance.

These approaches are simply tools. What matters most is finding what works best for you because you’re unique.
